Wikeo privacy
We don't receive or store your watch history, saved videos, notes, highlights, screenshots, transcripts, tags, or collections.
Your Wikeo library lives on your device, and extension data stays in your browser unless you choose otherwise.
Card numbers, billing details, tax information, and fraud checks are handled by our payment provider.
We only need limited information for payments, licensing, support, and basic website operation.
We do not receive or store your watch history, saved videos, notes, highlights, screenshots, transcripts, tags, collections, or local library content.
Your Wikeo library is stored locally on your device. The browser extension stores its data in the browser unless you move into the Mac app or use a future cloud feature.
We may need limited information for payments, licensing, support, and basic website operation, such as your email address and payment confirmation details.
Payment information such as card numbers, billing address, tax details, and fraud checks may be handled by our payment provider, not by Wikeo directly.
The core app data you create in Wikeo is not sent to our backend. This includes the videos you save, notes you write, highlights you create, screenshots you capture, transcripts you keep, tags, collections, and search history inside your local library.
Because this data is local, you are responsible for backing up your device or app data if you want an extra copy. If your device is lost, damaged, reset, or its storage is corrupted, we may not be able to recover your Wikeo library.
We keep this limited to what is needed to run Wikeo as a product, sell licenses, answer questions, and keep the website working.
When you buy Wikeo, payments may be processed by a third-party payment provider. That provider may collect and process information needed to complete the transaction, such as card details, billing address, tax information, device or fraud-prevention signals, and payment history.
We do not intentionally store full card numbers. We may receive enough information from the payment provider to confirm your purchase, issue a license, provide support, prevent abuse, handle refunds, and meet accounting or legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We also do not share your local Wikeo library because we do not receive it in the first place.
We may share limited information with service providers who help us run the business, such as payment processors, email providers, hosting providers, analytics or diagnostics tools, legal/accounting providers, and support tools. These providers are expected to use the information only to provide services to us.
We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, security needs, fraud prevention, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Wikeo, our users, or others.
Wikeo may add optional cloud features in the future, such as sync, backup, collaboration, or subscription features. Until you choose a cloud feature, your app library remains local-first as described above.
Before launching or requiring any cloud feature that changes how we collect or store your Wikeo library data, we will update this policy and explain what changes.
Local app data remains on your device until you delete it through Wikeo, your browser, your operating system, or other tools you control.
Purchase, license, support, and business records may be kept for as long as needed to provide Wikeo, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and meet legal, tax, or accounting requirements.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited information we handle. No software, device, network, or storage system can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Wikeo is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to remove it.
We may update this Privacy Policy as Wikeo changes. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will take reasonable steps to make the change clear, such as updating the effective date, posting a notice, or contacting users when appropriate.
